05 October 2006
Hello All,
As many of you are aware, there has not been much
activity in the Media with my Mother, Summer Shipp's case lately.
However, please know that there is still alot going on behind the scenes,
which cannot be made public. The Independence Police Department is still
actively working the case. It has by no means gone COLD.
I cannot thank you enough for your
prayers and support over the last 22 months. December 8, 2006 will be
mark 2 years since the disappearance. "Friends of Summer", www.friendsofsummer.com
has joined forces with the "Achieve Foundation", www.achievefoundation.com and
will be conducting a 3-day FREE self-defense-training workshop for women,
in honor of my Mother. It will be held Dec 8, 9, and 10 at Screenland Theatre.
I will email you with more details when they are available.
The following is a press release for an upcoming
event at which my Mother, Summer Shipp's case will be featured. The
concert is part of a world-wide tour with the goal of raising public awareness
of Missing Person's cases. Proceeds will benefit the non-profit organization,
"GINA for Missing Persons", www.411Gina.org
. Please mark your calendars and invite all your friends!!
Always hopeful,
Brandy Shipp

LOS
ANGELES, CA (September 22, 2006) --- GINA for Missing Persons, the
internationally acclaimed concert series to raise awareness for
those who go missing every year, announces The Squeaky Wheel Tour,
October 17-November 4,2006. This world-wide tour will feature
several
hundred artists performing in 150 events throughout 50 states and
eight countries. The focus of the events is to gain attention for over
150 missing people in the effort to bring at least ONE home.
|
|
The
international "Squeaky Wheel Tour" honors Gina 80S, who
disappeared from
Lincoln
,
Nebraska
six years ago. The 19-day tour is the creation of her sister, Jannel
Rap, who developed the GINA Concert Series in 2001 bringing together
recording artists from all over the
U.S.
to obtain attention for ALL people who are missing. Every missing
child, every missing adult is an important missing person. When loved
ones disappear, their family members' lives are devastated. A large
part of their lives have been carved out, snatched away, and their
only focus is to have their missing loved ones returned.
|
|
"Each
missing person's story is unique, important and as valuable as the
next," said Rap. "If someone took your child or your sister
or brother, what would you do? Would you pull down the moon? Would you
look under the rock? Would you scream as loud as you could?"
|
|
"Would
you become the Squeaky Wheel?" added Rap.
|
|
"The
Squeaky Wheel Tour" will have its kick-off event in
Lincoln
,
Nebraska
on October 16-17,2006 and officially conclude with an event in
Little Rock
,
Arkansas
on November 4. In addition, pre- and post-"Squeaky" events
will take place starting September 6 with a Webcast concert featuring
GINA/LA Women in Music 2006 Contest Winners in
Hollywood
,
CA
. A list of the musical artists, locations, and dates are outlined on
the following page. This list is also posted at www.411Gina.org and is
updated daily.

About
GINA for Missing Persons
|
|
ABOUT
GINA: Singer/songwriter Jannel Rap's sister, Gina Bos, disappeared
on October 17, 2000. Gina's story had no scandal, no suspects and
lacked the hook and intrigue to get the attention of the national
public. Gina had simply vanished after performing at a pub in
Lincoln
, NE. Six months of slamming doors inspired Jannel into action...and
the concept of using entertainment to get attention for the missing
was born.
|
|
In
2001, Jannel organized a concert series in honor of her sister,
called The GINA Sessions, sponsored by GINA for Missing Persons. The
series brings together recording artists from all over the country
in an effort to raise awareness of all the mothers, fathers,
brothers, sisters and children who go missing every year. In
addition, through GINA (www.411Gina.org) Jannel has produced a
television series called
America
Lost and FOUND, and now hosts a monthly international
webcast featuring missing persons from around the globe.
